ANGOLA'S NEXUS LAUNCHES FIXED WIRELESS PHONES WITH INTERNET ACCESS
Telcoms and internet service provider Nexus is launching wireless fixed phones that permit internet access in Luanda. According to the President of its Administrative Council Rui Santos, the new service is in an experimental stage with about 600 phones already installed. The service can be supplied anywhere up to 30 kms from the capital.
Nexus was also launching simultaneously its wireless broadband service which already has 500 customers, which offers a number of new pay-for services, downloading pictures and distance learning as well as a broadband connection.
Nexus came about from a merger of ISP Ebonet, Netangola and Telesel. The Banque d'Epargne et Crédit is a shareholder.
