- South Africa's second-ranked IT firm, Datatec (DTC) - which generates more than 95% in revenues offshore - is evaluating opportunities to develop black economic empowerment partnerships for its local business. The firm said in its annual report released on Monday that it expects to make an announcement on a black economic empowerment (BEE) transaction during the financial year ending March 2006. For the twelve-month period ended 2005, the IT company turned over US$2.434bn, up 10% from $2.223bn reported the previous year. Datatec's flagship company US-based Wescon Group saw an 11% increase in revenues to $2.055bn. In an AGM scheduled for August 16, shareholders will be expected to ratify directors' remuneration for the past financial year, authorise the auditors' remuneration as well as vote on an increase to non-executive directors' fees.
