BANQUE SÉNÉGALO-TUNISIENNE LAUNCHES E-CASH CARD CALLED KALPÉ

Banque Sénégalo-Tunisienne (BST) announced the launch last Thursday of a banking card that can carry cash for Senegal named Kalpé. It can be used to pay bills and to access a number of other services. Howeber in the first phase of roll-out it will be used by customers to pay their electricity bills with the state power company Senlec. In due course it will be possible to use it for a variety of transactions including recharging a mobile phone. Currently there is only one place the customer can use to recharge the card but later it will be available at a number of the bank's branches.
