- Danimex Holding has decided to join all TETRA activities in the Danimex group in a new company named Danimex Digital Networks. The company will remain located in Sonderborg, Denmark at the corporate headquarter. The primary focus of Danimex Digital Networks is to design and implement TETRA systems in Middle East, Africa and South & Central Asia in close partnership with the existing sales channel in the Danimex group. “Digital radio networks are complex in nature, requiring highly specialized engineers and other experts to support the sales channel. To enhance our focus on this business area we have decided to create an independent company, with the sole focus on TETRA,” explains Managing Director Jytte Kaufmann Thomsen of Danimex Holding.

- The number of fixed and mobile users in Nigeria has reached twelve million, up from less than a million in 1999, according to the Nigerian Communications Commission. The regulator says that the country’s 19 fixed line operators, including state owned incumbent NITEL, account for little over one million of the total, with the remainder signed up to the wireless services of Globacom, MTN, M-Tel and V-Mobile. Penetration for telephony services now stands at around 9%.
