- On 22 February the Cameroonian Minister of Economy and Finance re-iterated the Government's intention to privatise Camtel despite having missed its own deadline for doing so by October 2004. In May 2003 the IMF and World Bank gave the Government a two year grace period before privatising. The Minister said that the privatisation was part of the broader economic restructuring package agreed with the IMF.

- AOL is rumoured to be launching a VoIP service next month. The service will initially be offered exclusively to AOL members, but it's expected that availability will be opened to the general public later this year. AOL has been testing the service with volunteers.
