- The Nigerian Parliamentary House Committee on Communication has demanded for a full public hearing on NITEL Management Contract Awarded to Pentascope.A member of the committee, Alhaji Nasiru Dantiye said that, "Pentascope don't have the technical and managerial ability to turn around NITEL, neither do they have the financial might or connection to do it," Dantiye said. According to Dantiye, "my telephone has not being working for the past four months, yet I receive at the end of each month, bills amounting to either N20,000 or N30,000."

- There is talk of forming an African VoIP grouping as part of AfrISPA.
