- Pan African ISP Africa Online, has created a new service in Kenya called Wireless Infinity that does not require a Telkom Kenya telephone line. Businesses are now able to enjoy wireless Internet connection without a telephone line. The company will tie-up with local Public Data Network Operators (PDNO) to offer a wireless Internet service that would permit an uninterrupted connection to the World Wide Web. The service uses wireless technology and instead of reliance on Telkom's cable network, it would use base stations set by PDNO's at various locations. According to Africa Online Development Manager, David Ngigi the service would offer high speed ranging between 32 kilobits and beyond 2 megabits.
