- The World Bank and partners have a new web portal called the AIDS Media Center (AMC). The AMC features: breaking and embargoed news (as available); links to partner content pages; tools and resources for journalists, such as listing media and HIV training events; content and multimedia resource libraries; interviews with HIV opinion leaders and media specialists; and e-newsletters. While a good portion of the AMC is publicly available, additional site content is password protected for exclusive access by credentialed media professionals.
- News24.com has reported more than a million unique users in November, saying it is the first local Web site to break the seven-figure mark. According to the November report from measurement company Nielsen//NetRatings Market Intelligence, which received the statistics from the Online Publishers' Association (OPA), over 1.1 million people accessed the News24 site. IOL was the second most visited site, attracting 948 167 unique users, followed by iAfrica with 476, 683.
