TUNISIA HOSTS IPV6 AFRICA AND MID-EAST TASK FORCE EVENT
Last week (20-22 July) saw Tunisia host the "Internet Protocol V6" organised by the ITU and the Tunisian regulator ATI. The event concluded with a press conference to describe the advantages of IPV6 and the work of a Task Force on the subject for the Middle East, Africa and other developing countries.
A working group for the region was put together under the Presidency of Mme Férial Béji of Tunisia. It was charged with taking all necessary measures to encourage the take-up of IPV6 in the countries concerned.
According to Latif Ladid at the press conference:"The action plan of the Task Force would allow Arab countries to interconnect and then African ones to create promote internet promotion programmes in these countries."
