- South African software republishing company, Phoenix Software, has launched its first PC game in the UK and South Africa. Castle Strike from publisher Data Becker and developer Related Designs, follows on from their previous successes in Real Time Strategy games, America (released in 2001) and No Man’s Land (2003).

  - Bytes Document Solutions (BDS) - formerly Xerox SA ­ has warned customers to be aware of counterfeit products in the market place. Last week, Xerox said USD1.3 million worth of counterfeit colour laser printer cartridges had been seized or quarantined as part of a worldwide investigation by Xerox Corporate Security and various authorities.

- Oracle Corporation last week signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Higher Education of the Government of Mozambique, consolidating and further enhancing its national strategies in Information Communication Technology and Higher Education.
