The convention will be the culmination of a series of national sector- focused ICT conferences convened by the National ICT Board and supported by IDRC to drive forward effective ICT applications and solutions to underpin Kenya’s economic transformation into an electronically empowered economy competing effectively in the world economy and providing increased employment opportunities for its citizens.
POSTPONEMENT OF ICT AFRICA INVESTMENT SUMMIT TO 29 JUNE - 1 JULY 2004
The ICT African Investment Summit, which was scheduled to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, 9-11 March 2004, has been postponed to 29 June - 1 July 2004. The postponement has been necessitated by the recent announcement of a General Election for the South African Parliament, to take place on April 15, 2004.
The Summit is coordinated by Kemilinks International and is supported by the South African Government (through the Department of Communications), the International Telecommunications Union, the African Telecommunications Union, the South African ICT industry though the South African Communications Forum (SACF) and other industry players in and outside Africa.

EXTENSION OF AFNOG DEADLINE
In view of the number of requests AFNOG have received for extending the deadline for submitting application to attend the AfNOG 2004 workshop to be held in Dakar, Senegal on the 16th - 21st May, 2004, the deadline has been extended for two weeks. Interested applicants will have two more weeks to submit their applications. Applications received after the 2 week extension to the deadline i.e. after March 14, 2004 will not be considered.
