The Tribunal régional of Ziguinchor cited a Frenchman called Christian Cousteaux, the oener of the web site Senegalaisement.com (also known as Planete Senegal) for contempt of court. He has been ordered to pay 600 million FCFAs in costs and 200 million FCFAs in damages to two hotel owners and to the Mayor of the region, Robert Sagna.

In addition to these costs, the court has ordered an international warrant for his arrest. Those who received damages claimed that Cousteaux as web site owner had published various defamatory things about the two hotels, Kadiandoumagne and Hibiscus, as well as about the Mayor of Ziguinchor. He was said to have discredited the region and its different hotels and camping facilities. He is said to have described the region as a "place of the debauched" ("lieux de débauche"). He also said that the Senegalese police were corrupt and that the army were responsible for the insecurity in the south of the country, committing atrocities against the civilian population.
