- Scancom Limited, owner of the Ghanaian cellular network, Spacefon, has reduced its call rates by as much as 25% as part of a comprehensive programme to celebrate seven years of the company’s existence.Starting on November 1, 2003, it claims that the new rates make the company the cheapest GSM service provide.Customers will now pay ¢937.50 for a thirty second call during Peak periods,and ¢625 for Off Peak periods. Additionally, the price of Spacefon’s StarterPacks has been reduced from ¢270,000 to ¢170,000.

Also for the month of November, one hundred (100) customers selected through Spacefon’s Special Anniversary SMS promotion, will each be given free 240 units each day.

- Angola Telecom’s mobile operation has extended its coverage to Huambo province.
