- Africa Online is deploying a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) network within Tanzania, commencing with initial roll out in Dar es Salaam in the last quarter of 2003. The network is being implemented using Alvarion wireless equipment using licensed and managed frequencies of 3.5GHz and 10.5GHz. (Africa Online does not plan to offer any wireless services on the unlicensed and unmanaged bands of 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz) To read more click on the link

- Media Post has stepped back from its ambitious regional expansion plans.

- Gasy Online, one of Madagascar’s most recent ISPs has launched prepaid card (Go) browsing for between 33 minutes to 8 hours in 1, 8 and 30 euro price bites. For unlimited browsing the price varies between 360 to 580 euros depending on whether the connection is analogue or digital. Prices indicated are without taxes.
