COTE D’IVOIRE: ORANGE INCREASES THE CAPACITY OF ITS NETWORK

Cellular provider Orange Cote D’Ivoire has introduced new equipment to add capacity to its network. According to Bernard Clivet, its Director-General the growth of clients in the last ten months has meant that its current network is close to saturation point. He revelealed last week that the new equipment will add a further 50% to the capacity of the network to meet the needs of customers. He said that the recent political crisis had delayed the introduction of the equipment in Abidjan but promised that it would be in operation by mid-October. Its Technical Director Joseph Pitah said that the company was working day and night to reduce congestion on the network.
