- Nigeria’s Jigawa State communications company known as the Broad Band Network services will provide 20 states with internet access, government spokesman, Alhaji Abba Umar Kukuma informed Daily Trust in Dutse. He said the multi-billion naira network being installed by Galaxy Company will start operations by the end of this month.

- The chief of the Western Cape’s detective services, assistant commissioner Andre du Toit, has confirmed that an arrest has been made in connection with the Absa e-banking fraud case. The case involves around R500 000 which was transferred from the bank accounts of Absa customers in Bellville in the Western Cape.

- Africa Online has been ranked as the leading Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Kenya by a PC World survey.PC World, a leading regional and international Information Technology (IT) publication, indicated that Africa Online was way ahead of the other 18 ISPs surveyed.
