- FileWay was selected as the .NET Application of the year during the Microsoft Partner Awards 2003 ceremony held at Semiramis Intercontinental Cairo, Egypt.

- Global Technology’s (Glotec’s) efforts to sell its banking software division to a management consortium were thwarted when the company whose software it represents refused to back the proposed buyout. Swiss-listed Temenos would not support a management buyout for the two Glotec units, which handle its software because Temenos intends to open its own office in SA instead.

- Zimbabwe’s Data Resources Integrators (DRI) will open offices in Mutare and Bulawayo next month. Last week the company opened new offices and a repair centre in the capital as part of its expansion exercise.
