THE New Partnership for Development (NEPAD) is about to form the Electronic Africa Commission Process (EACP) to make sure, among other things that African schools are equipped and have access to proper Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), writes Kasonde Timothy Kasolo. NEPAD Secretariat Communication and Marketing General Manager Thaninga Shope-Linney told the Dispatch Tuesday last week in Johannesburg that the formation of EACP will enhance the development of ICTs in Africa.

Shope-Linney added that this is in line with the work of NEPAD in as far as bridging the infrastructure gap, bridging the digital divide and investing in ICTs is concerned. The main delay has been in finding funding for its work. Shope-Linney said that details would be posted on its web site shortly.
