PENTASCOPE SETS NITEL TURNOVER TARGET OF N128BILLION
Nitel’s Dutch management contractors Pentascope International have unveiled an ambitious business plan for 2003-2005, setting a turnover target of N128 billion in 2005. The figure represents a leap from the estimated N54 billion in 2002.
Media reports indicate that the company anticipates growth in operating profits from expected improvement in its share of the Global System of Mobile Communication (GSM) market with the introduction of one million lines and 600,000 new fixed lines.
Meanwhile, at the formal handover of NITEL to Pentascope International in Abuja last week, the companys new Chief Executive Rein Zwdsman, promised to improve the quality of the existing NITEL network and change the internal and external process of transactions in the firm from a slow bureaucratic system to a quick commercial and business oriented company.
