ANGOLAN GOVERNMENT TO ESTABLISH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FUND

The Angolan government will set up an information technology fund with the help of oil companies operating in Angola, to finance projects in this field. According to the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Pedro Teta, apart from international donations, the government has to count with its proper strategy to implement projects of the sector.

The government will also establish, this year, a prize for information technologies, with the collaboration of the private sector. The award, which will be given annually, is intended to reward citizens and computing firms. Included in the ministry’s plans, is the creation of an academy of science and technology, for the promotion of science progress in the country.
